If you want this charming style, Megan is a good one to consult. This nice lady has been creating her brand of Gothic and Lolita fashion on her new website, Megan Maude, since 2007. Her inspiration comes from the Japanese fashion, vintage drawings, and western influences for this genre. In looking at her website, you will note that not only can Megan create Gothic Lolita outfits, she can make all kinds of versions such as Sweet equally well. I even spied some of what I would call (and this is my own name) “Boudoir” Lolita–okay, she can make cute baby-doll PJs too! Fabrics for those suggested pretty pastels as well as fun jewel tones. She got away from doing commission work (though she may take some on a very limited basis–you’ll need to ask her) due to here obsession with detail. Too much fretting to make sure her customers were totally happy apparently dampened her desire to do commission work on a regular bases. Scarlet, your mistress of Wicked Wears totally understands this. She knows all too well that custom work is stressful. One does worry if the customer will be happy with what you created for them. Like Scarlet, Megan prefers to create her pieces and if you like it, buy it. I couldn’t agree more. Did I mention that her designs were featured in the American Gothic & Lolita Bibles? I’m not sure exactly when in 2008, but the year is running out! In 2007 she had a fashion “coming-out” at the New York Anime Festival for the American Gothic & Lolita Bible Fashion Show, and was able to show off her wickedly great fashions. Do check out Megan’s site. It’s adorable and will be well worth it!
